Post Rotterdam

History

Post Rotterdam a building with a history and one of the few remaining buildings of historical interest in Rotterdam. Built in 1923 to a design by chief government architect, G.C.Bremer. The former post office has an impressive interior with an imposing main hall of at least 22.5 meters high. The main hall is spanned by large parabolic trusses of light colored concrete with panels of concrete and glass. It’s stylish design was inspired primarily by architectural trends of the Amsterdam School and Art Deco. All this makes for an impressive and imposing sight.

By 2013 Post Rotterdam will have become a meeting place where old and new worlds meet in harmony.
